New LED lights for extreme conditions
Tested lights were specially adapted for high resistance to gushing water, dust and shock, in coverage IP66, FUTURA MAX, PRIMA LED MAX and ALUMAX LED MAX.
Investment in technological development is one of the main pillars of a successful company. This was the response on how to build a successful business of Jiří Opočenský, the co-founder of company TREVOS, during the award ceremony Entrepreneur of year 2016 for Liberec region.
In 2016, the production premises of the company TREVOS underwent a significant expansion with the construction of Technology and storage centre on an area of 3250 m2.
“To keep a technological lead ahead of the competition, it is necessary to perform a continual research and to develop new technologies that you can safely put into operation.” adds the head of development in TREVOS, Ing. Roman Grund. The standard five-year warranty on LED lights TREVOS confirms his words without reservation.
The new centre was immediately used to develop a complex set of LED lights specially prepared for the environment with extreme temperatures which was so far, a big problem for the LED lights. The shortcoming was not only the reduction of luminous flux, but the lifetime of LED modules, which steeply declines at the standard LED modules, especially in plus temperatures.
For these purposes, the tested lights were specially adapted for high resistance to gushing water, dust and shock, in coverage IP66, FUTURA, PRIMA LED and ALUMAX LED. Thanks to their purpose for maximum temperatures, the lights obtained the title postscript MAX. “These are lights resistant to temperatures below zero, specifically -40°C, as well as temperatures above the common standard for LED lights, up to the ambient temperature +60°C.” adds Grund. Therefore, it is possible to use the new LED lights in areas such as cold storage rooms, freezer rooms, but also bakeries, heating plants or for example glass factories.
ALUMAX LED MAX allows an adequate substitution for fluorescent lights ALUMAX T8, PERUN T8 and PRIMA T8 with a low-loss inductive ballast for temperature Ta 60°C. It will not be possible to produce and sell these lights from April 2017 due to the regulation ES 245/2009, regulation of greenhouse gases by reducing energy consumption.
In autumn 2016, a new high-performance LED light IP65 was introduced, for areas where explosion-proof devices are required – chemical industry, laboratories, warehouses and manufacturing, PRIMA LED Ex. The base and the diffuser are made of UV stable polycarbonate, while its construction was strengthened compare to the standard version, the side thickness of the light was increased and the light construction was strengthened by reinforced ribs so that the light meets the strict requirements of the standard EN 60079 for lights to explosive atmosphere. The explosive atmosphere can be formed by a mixture of gas, vapor or mist (zones 0, 1 and 2) or by a cloud of combustive dust in the air (zones 20, 21 and 22). The light design must ensure that the light is not the initiator of the explosion in any way and it meets all the mechanical and thermal requirements of the relevant standards. The light is intended for the ambient temperatures from -20°C to +40°C.
The production of the company TREVOS is no longer focused only on industrial premises, but it also achieves success in the field of interior lights. In the past, among these lights there were fluorescent lamps SM, which are nowadays successfully replaced by the complex range of LED lights LINEA consisting of single-row or double-row lights, lights in the shape of a circle and a square LINEA ROUND and LINEA SQUARE.
The company TREVOS newly expands its production of interior lights with metal, office, surface-mounted LED lights called NAOS. The lights with the height of a profile 34 mm, including all electronics, target with their structure at office premises, interior of schools, hospitals, halls and libraries. The main advantage of NAOS under the name MPR is a multi-layer micro pyramid (MPR) optical system preventing the glare, when the light complies with UGR < 19 according to the standard EN 12464-1. The lights NAOS as well as other LED lights TREVOS are commonly supplied in colour rendering CRI >80 and with the colour temperature 4000 Kelvins. On request, it is possible to supply with colour temperature from 3000K (warm white) to 6500K (cool white).
