Luminosity curve
The catalogue sheet of each light fitting or the electronic catalogue in our website offer the luminosity curves. The luminosity curve shows graphically how the light fitting radiates light into the space. In other words, in what direction it emits light. The light source is situated in the centre of the system - in the polar area in the graph. When the light fitting is rotationally symmetric around its vertical axis (circle, square), we construct only one intensity distribution curve in one vertical plane. Red in our case. When the light fitting is not symmetric, we add a blue curve to the graph. The blue curve shows how the light fitting shines after rotation by 90° as against the first position. When measuring the light fitting in the axis of the source, we measure the C90-C270 plane; when measuring the light fitting vertically to the axis, we measure the C0-C180 plane. See the picture below.
The luminosity in the given direction is measured by the goniophotometer.
TREVOS disposes of that device.
We are able to measure all light fittings by ourselves and to record the luminous output.
So we can be sure that the light fitting shines as it should.
Luminosity curve example
The light fitting is suitable for emergency and orientation illumination of hallways, offices, warehouses and production shop floors.
